Free backtesting software for futures
AlphaPrime is free for 7 days with no credit card: generate and backtest futures strategies on your PC, then export them to MultiCharts, TradingView, TradeStation, NinjaTrader, MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5. After day 7 the trial ends and you need a Classic or Reserve license; the trial covers 15 indicator families, the paid editions nearly 100,000 rules.
Windows 10/11, 64-bit. Linux and Mac versions coming soon. One GPU completed about 1.2 billion strategy evaluations in roughly 18 hours (measured); without an NVIDIA GPU the trial computes on the CPU.

Questions
Is there free backtesting software that really works?
Yes, for 7 days. The AlphaPrime trial generates and backtests strategies, reads the performance reports and exports to six platforms, with no credit card. It uses 15 indicator families with about 3,170 conditions, so it is a real test of the software, not the whole rule library.
What happens after the 7 days?
The trial license ends. To keep generating and backtesting, buy Classic (CPU) or Reserve (GPU), each a perpetual license with 1 year of updates. The free browser tools on this page have no time limit.
Can I backtest futures for free?
Yes, two ways. The trial backtests futures with contract specs, trading sessions and costs built in. The free portfolio backtest runs in your browser on daily files you upload yourself, with no sign-up.
What is the best backtesting software?
It depends on what you test. A charting platform suits one idea you have already written. An asset allocator suits long-term stock and fund portfolios. AlphaPrime suits futures traders who want the software to search many strategies, test them out of sample and export the code. Try it on a market you know.
Can it backtest stocks?
AlphaPrime is built for futures: index, energy, metal, rate, currency and grain contracts. To test single stocks, use a backtester with stock data, or upload their daily files to the free portfolio backtest.
