Convert TradingView Pine Script to MultiCharts PowerLanguage

Paste a TradingView Pine Script strategy (v5 or v6) and get MultiCharts PowerLanguage code. The translation runs in your browser; your code is not uploaded.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded.

PowerLanguage

Lines not translated

The two platforms set up fills and data a little differently, so backtest results may vary slightly.

    How it works

Fixed rules, no guessingA Pine Script order becomes a PowerLanguage orderPine Scriptstrategy.entry→PowerLanguageBuyLines the rules do not cover are flagged by line number.

    How the conversion works

Each line is translated by a fixed rule; nothing is guessed. A line the rules do not cover is marked as not supported, with its line number, and so are the lines that use its result. Lines that only affect the chart drawing are skipped and marked as such.

Indicators follow the Pine Script definitions, for example ta.ema starting from the first value and ta.rsi and ta.atr using the RMA average, so the PowerLanguage version works out the same values. Until an indicator has a value (na in Pine Script), no entry order is sent.

    Before you trade the result

Compile the code in MultiCharts and compare its trades with your TradingView backtest on the same data. Differences usually come from the data, the session and time zone, order timing, costs or the number of bars the strategy refers back to.

    Questions

    Is my code uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser, and the page is not allowed to send anything.

Which Pine Script features are supported?

Inputs, variables, if blocks, common ta.* indicators such as SMA, EMA, RSI, ATR, CCI and standard deviation, crossovers, and strategy.entry, strategy.close and strategy.exit. Loops, switch, user-defined functions, types and imports are marked as not supported.

What happens to a line it cannot convert?

It is marked as not supported with its line number, and so are the lines that use its result. Lines that only draw on the chart are skipped.

Will the result match my TradingView backtest?

Not automatically. Compare the trades in MultiCharts with TradingView on the same data and settings; differences usually come from the data, sessions, time zone, order timing or costs.

Test the idea on years of data, not one trade

AlphaPrime generates and backtests futures strategies, with contract specs, trading costs and sessions built in, then exports the strategy code to MultiCharts, TradingView, TradeStation or NinjaTrader.
